Murder of a Muslim prompts anti-immigrant feelings in
Italy

BRESCIA, Italy A series of unrelated murders this month has pushed this elegant city to the center of a national debate on the challenges of immigration and intercultural integration. The trigger was the gruesome murder of Hina Saleem, a 20-year-old woman of Pakistani descent who was found buried, with her throat slit, in the garden of her family home in a small town about 20 kilometers, or 12 miles, north of
Brescia. Her father and uncle have been accused of the murder and are in custody, and a brother-in-law, according to the ANSA news agency, turned himself in Thursday afternoon. The tragedy ballooned into a cause célèbre after newspaper reports alleged that Hina (as she is known in Italian papers) had been killed because her traditionalist Muslim father objected to her Western lifestyle. She smoked and wore revealing, low-slung jeans like many girls her age. After she died, she was reported by the press to have been living with an Italian man and working as a waitress. “She was always happy,” said Multani Gurmail, her boss at the Antica India restaurant. “I knew she had some problems. I didn’t realize how bad they were.” The murder has prompted weeks of front-page debate on what can happen when conservative beliefs collide with the mores of more permissive societies, and has sparked strong anti-immigrant feelings. It has also highlighted the growing generation gap between parents who have immigrated to
Italy from countries with strong social and religious traditions and their children raised in a Western environment. The Muslim community here, which has universally condemned the murder, strongly resents the allegations that Hina was killed as a result of her family’s religious beliefs. “For us, murder is a sin, not only a crime,” said Mahmood Tariq, the director of the Muhammadiah Islamic Cultural Association in
Brescia. “This is an exceptional case,” he added, above all a question of tension between members of the Saleem family. “Cases like this happen in all societies.” On Thursday, Hina’s mother, Bushra Bakum, dismissed notions that religion had played a role in drama. She told reporters that Hina had been a constant worry to her parents. “She stayed out without explanation, we never knew where she was and with whom, she was simply a daughter who did not obey,” Bakum said. She said she would not forgive her husband. “It’s his fault and no one else’s.” Hina’s death was merely the first of several others involving immigrants. A few days after her body was found, a young Italian woman was found dead in a
Brescia church and a Sri Lankan immigrant who assisted the priest has since been arrested. Then an immigrant from
Morocco was arrested for the murder of a notable painter here, and this week a Pakistani man was knifed during what appears to be a robbery. The result has been a round of anti- immigrant rhetoric. The federalist Northern League party used the Hina case to argue that immigration to Italy should be limited to people who “are socially, culturally and religiously compatible with our way of life and legislation,” as a Northern League lawmaker, Angelo Alessandrini, told ANSA. Some residents of this wealthy provincial capital east of Milan, in one of
Italy’s most industrialized areas, have been venting their anger. “The mayor tells us we have to live with them, but the immigrants don’t reciprocate. And this isn’t their city,” said Gloria Gatta, the owner of a café on the Via San Faustino, a street lined with shops catering to the neighborhood’s growing African and Asian clientele. Things in
Brescia have gotten so bad, she said, that “people are afraid to go out after dark.” Comments like these prompted City Hall to issue a statement this month addressing the wave of immigrant-related deaths and pledging security measures to ensure that laws would be respected. Citing the case of Hina, the statement also said the city would work to ensure that women’s rights were respected “against any tribal or fundamentalist point of view.” The backlash has the Pakistani community very worried. “People used to be more tolerant; they used to be less allergic to seeing someone from a different race, ” said Sajid Shah, the founder of the Muhammadiah association, which is building here what will be the second biggest mosque in
Italy. When a foreigner does something, the reaction is immediate, Shah said, adding that since the wave of crime he felt as though he was under surveillance. “Now people don’t want to see us outside the factory,” he said bitterly. “They just want us to produce.” Many Pakistani immigrants to the area share a similar story. Mohammed Saleem came to
Italy in 1989 to work in a factory. He shared a cramped apartment to save money to send home. Then, as his economic situation improved, he brought his family over from
Pakistan. Hina reportedly came over in 1999. Saleem’s lawyer, Alberto Bordone, said Saleem was physically fine after 10 days in prison, but that psychologically his state was worsening. “He’s aware of the accusations against him, and he’s mostly worried about his wife and the remaining six children,” he said. “It’s a strongly patriarchal family.” Several members of the Pakistani community said it was their responsibility to try to soothe the tensions that led to the Hina case, in particular because there’s a real chance that they could re-emerge. According to the Catholic charity Caritas, there are about 110,000 immigrants among the 1.1 million people living in theprovince of
Brescia. Pakistani community leaders estimate there are 10,000 immigrants of Pakistani origin in the area. “This is the story of a social problem between two cultures within the same family,” said Farhat Hussain Naqvi, a sociologist who heads the local chapter of the Pakistani Welfare Club, explaining that many of his fellow nationals who immigrated here in the 1990s came from small towns and were not educated. Most still do not speak much Italian. “They have a closed mentality,” he said. Their children, on the other hand, grew up going to Italian schools and having Italian friends. Possible problems were imminent, because “most are just becoming teenagers now,” he said. Hence the need to help Pakistanis deal with children they might not understand or relate to. The problem within Hina’s family “was not something that happened overnight,” he said. “We don’t live in Pakistan, we live in
Italy, and it’s about finding a middle way,” Naqvi said. It was, above all, a question of accepting reality and opening a dialogue. “Maybe it will change something. Maybe the situation will improve.”

Den påståede sammensværgelse om at sprænge fly i luften over atlanten, og sidste års terrorist angreb i London har øget frygten for Islam som religion i den britiske befolkning, og ikke kun dets ekstremistiske element siger en meningsmåling i The daily Telegraph. Et stigende antal borgere frygter, landet står overfor “et Muslimsk problem” og mere end halvdelen af den forespurgte i “the YouGov” undersøgelsen siger direkte, at Islam er en trussel mod det vestlige demokrati. Sammenlignet med tallene efter d, 11 Sep, 2001 efter terrorist angrebet på USA, hvor mindre end en trediedel gav udtryk for det samme. Tallene blev afsløret, da Ruth Kelly, “the Communities Secretary”, indrømmede, at det multi-culturelle program socialisterne har understøttet i 2 årtier, formodentlig har været en fejl, og har ført til den fremmedgørelsen af mange unge muslimerve, siger de føler og mærker. I går blev tal fra “The National Statistik” offentliggjort, og den viser, at immigration nu er den største faktor i befolkningstilvæksten I år er befolkningstilvæksten i UK, steget med 375.000 til mere end 60 millioner. Dette er den største årlige tilvækst siden 1962, som var højdepunktet for efterkrigstidens baby boom. Det meste af stigningen er resultatet af den rekordhøje indvandring, som også har betydet den højeste fødselsrate i 30 år. “The YouGov” undersøgelse bekræfter ministerens frygt for, landet er ved at blive delt mellem muslimer og resten af befolkningen, som ikke har tillid til dem, samt at troen på ”a clash of civilisations” er ved at rodfæste sig. Siden en tilsvarende undersøgelse blev lavet efter 7 Juli bombningerne i London sidste år, er der sket en significant stigning, i antallet af folk der er ængstelige for en del af deres Muslimske Landsmænd. Andelen af de der mener ”en stor andel af Britiske Muslimer ikke har nogen følelse af loyalitet til Landet, og er klare til se igennem fingre, eller rent ud er villige til at udføre terrorist handlinger” er næsten fordoblet fra 10% for et år siden til 18% nu. Antallet af dem der tror Muslimer er fredelige og lovlydige borgere, som beklager terroristernes handlinger ligesom alle ”os andre” er faldet fra 23% i Juli sidste år til 16% nu. Imidlertid er der stærk modstand til profilering af flypassagerere baseret på religion og etnisk baggrund. En større andel end sidste år mener, at Politiet og MI5 skal fokusere på effektivisere “terrorismebekæmpelse” overfor muslimer, idet færre frygter at den strategi i bekæmpelsen, vil medvirke til at dele landet, eller diskriminere muslimer der lever efter loven. Meget slående er der en betydelig stigning igennem de senste 5 år, i antallet af dem der tror på “the clash of Civilisation” Da ”YouGov i 2001 spurgte om folk følte sig truede af Islam, adskilt fra Islamisk fundamentalisme, svarede kun 32% ja. Dette tal er idag steget til 53% For 5 år siden mente 2 for hver 1, altså 66.7% at islam udgjorde ingen eller kun lille risiko. Nu synes folk derimod at islam udgør en alvorlig trussel. Siden sin grundlæggelse i 1928 har det Muslimske Broderskab (Hizb al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun) haft afgørende indflydelse på det politiske liv i Mellemøsten.
Deres motto er: Allah er vort mål. Profeten er vor leder. Koranen er vor lov og Jihad er vor vej. At dø for Allah er vort højeste håb.
Broderskabets magt i mellemøsten er blevet mindre, da specielt de yngre muslimer har brug for langt mere håndfaste metoder og derfor har støttet mere radikale ledere.
Svaret for broderskabet har derfor været, at søge indflydelse andre steder, primært i Europa, hvorfra de siden begyndelsen af 1960erne har etableret en støt voksende organisation, bygget moskéer og støttet islamske organisationer i Europa. Deres mål i Europa har ikke været blot at støtte de muslimske organisationer lokalt, men derimod : At udvide det område, hvor Islams love gælder, i Europa og USA.
Broderskabet har løbende oprettet skoler , hvor unge muslimske flygtninge i Europa og deres forældre er blevet oplært i Islams mål og midler, og herfra har de rekrutteret de nye ledere , der skal repræsentere muslimerne overfor de vestlige landes regeringer på alle niveauer. Alt dette har kun været muligt gennem kæmpe sponsorater fra velhavende familier. I dag er deres netværk spredt overalt i Europa, med celler i alle europæiske lande. De har fundet en moderat udtryksform, der trods deres radikale synspunkter har formået at berolige de vestlige politikere til at acceptere dem som en forhandlingspartner – endda på de 3 hovedsprog, engelsk, tysk og fransk.
Den pæne facade forsvinder dog, når de er sig selv og alt foregår på arabisk eller tyrkisk, her prædiker deres præster åbent om hadet til de vestlige samfund og måden de skal nedkæmpe vor kultur. I TV fordømmer de officielt bomberne i togene i Madrid, samtidig med at de organiserer og kanaliserer penge til Hamas kamp mod Israel. Denne dobbelt-moral eller tvetungethed er specielt tydelig i Tyskland, der er blevet hovedsædet for al muslimsk aktivitet i Europa, ikke kun fordi landet ligger centralt i Europa, men også fordi det var her broderskabet blev skabt og fik fodfæste først.
Det Muslimske Broderskab
Netop Tyskland er interessant at betragte. Det var her det hele startede i midten af 1950erne. Tusinder af muslimske studenter forlod Mellemøsten til fordel for den velkendte tyske tekniske uddannelse, og samtidig i flugt fra det daværende egyptiske regime under Gamal Abdel Nasser. Han ønskede at rykke de islamistiske fundamentalister op ved roden, som han udtrykte det. Den tyske regering var på det tidspunkt i opposition til bl.a. Egypten, p.g.a. landets anerkendelse af det kommunistiske Østtyskland, så Vesttyskland åbnede sine grænser for mange tusinde mellemøstlige flygtninge og gav dem asyl. Det samme gjaldt flygtninge fra Syrien.
Mange af Det Muslimske Broderskabs medlemmer kendte i forvejen Tyskland fra Nazi-tiden fra før starten af verdenskrigen – mange havde endda kæmpet for SS i Bosnien, altså på tysk side.
Den første pioner for broderskabet hed Sa´id Ramadan. Han var personlig sekretær for skaberen af broderskabet, Hassan al-Banna. Ramadan havde som egypter ledet broderskabets styrker i Palæstina i 1948. Han flygtede til Geneva i 1958 og uddannede sig til advokat i Køln. Han blev præsident for samlingen af de tre største muslimske organisationer i Tyskland fra 1958-68, og skabte The Muslim World League, der af Saudi-Arabien blev brugt til at sprede deres radikale oversættelse af Koranen og dermed Islam over hele Verden. I USA blev denne organisation vurderet meget nøje, da den blev anklaget for at finansiere terrorangrab. I 2002 optrævlede US Treasury Department med en task-force gruppens kontor i North Virginia og afslørede links til Al-Qaeda, Hamas og Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Senere i 2004 afsløredes det, at Ramadan kanaliserede penge til at grundlægge det magtfulde Islamic Center of Geneva, der stadig bliver ledet af Sa´ids søn, Hani Ramadan. Også hans anden søn Tariq Ramadan arbejder i Centeret, samtidig med at han er gæstelærer på Notre Dame University .
Ramadan blev efter 10 år afløst som leder af pakistaneren Fazal Yazdani i kort tid, hvorefter syreren Ghaleb Himmat, med italiensk statsborgerskab, overtog ledelsen af IGD (1973-2002). Han rejste meget mellem Italien, Østrig, Tyskland, Schweiz og USA, og oprettede Bank al-Taqwa i Italien, og Bank of the Muslim Brotherhood, der primært finansierede terroristgrupper siden 1995, gennem sin mellemmand i broderskabet Youssef Nada, der er deres finanskapacitet. Al-Taqwa og dens web kompagi havde hovedkvarterer i Schweiz, Lichtenstein og på Bahamas. Både Himmat og Nada kanaliserede store summer til Hamas og The Algerian Islamic Salvation Front, samt skabte en hemmelig kredit til Osama bin Laden.
De to banker har fra Italien finansieret oprettelsen af adskillige centre i Europæiske lande, samt trykning af flere Islamistiske publikationer, bl.a. Risalatul Ikhwan, der er det officielle magasin for broderskabet. Efter at US-myndigheder havde afsløret Himmats aktiviteter blev han afløst som chef for IGD af Ibrahim el-Zayat, en 36 årig egypter – den karismatiske leder af flere studenter-organisationer.
Man kan diskutere, om IGD er opstået udfra broderskabet, der regnes med at have sine rødder i Egypten, men der er via de to ledere, Ramadan og Himmat stærke bånd mellem de to organisationer. Under deres lederskab blev det imponerende Islamic Center of Munich skabt i 1960 af penge direkte fra King Fahd of Saudi Arabia. Dette center har siden været centeret for broderskabet. Deres ledende magasin kaldes Al-Islam, og driften finansieres fra Bank al-Taqwa.
Ifølge indenrigsministeren for Baden-Württemberg viser Al-Islams artikler tydeligt, at broderskabet totalt afviser at blive ledet af en verdslig ( vestlig ) leder – der er således ingen plads for nogen integration i et vestligt land.
På længere sigt kan muslimerne ikke affinde sig med at skulle ledes af tysk lovgivning, så det fremgår klart, at muslimernes mål er, at adskille tysk lov fra islamisk.
Det islamiske center i München under IGD ( og broderskabet ) er i dag det vigtigste center for det egyptiske broderskab, der har vokset sig stærkt gennem de sidste 10 år, og styrer snesevis af islamiske centre og organisationer alene i Tyskland. Deres styrke ligger bl.a. i, at de sponsorerer flere studenterorganisationer i Tyskland, hvorfra de kan rekruttere og uddanne nye ledere.
Det var Zayat der indså. At man skulle satse på de helt unge, tyske muslimer. De tyske myndigheder fandt dog hurtigt ud af, at han havde kontakt til broderskabet og til The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), financireret direkte med saudiske penge med det formål, at sprede Wahhabism, den mest radikalt intolerante udgave af Islam og Koranen. Den skulle spredes som undervisningsmateriale i skoler Verden over, for at give den muslimske ungdom fuld tillid til, at de var de udvalgte og at de var den herskende klasse – Islam var verdens stærkeste system over alle andre systemer. De udgav i 1991 en publikation, Tawjihat Islamiya ( Islamic Views ), der konstaterede, at alle børn skulle lære, hvorledes de kunne tage hævn over jøderne og over alle andre, der var i opposition til Allah. Mange af WAMYs publikationer er fyldt med stærkt anti-semistiske og anti-kristne sætninger.
De tyske myndigheder fandt også ud af, at Zayat havde direkte forbindelser til Institut Européen des Sciences Humaines, en fransk skole, der uddanner imamer, og spreder religiøst had til det vestlige samfund og den kristne kirke. De beviste, at han kanaliserede store pengesummer til terroristgrupper – uden at man kunne anklage ham for direkte medvirken til terror. At US-myndighederne fik fjernet Himmat nogle år tidligere ændrede ikke IGDs aktiviteter under Zayat.
Mens den egyptiske gren af broderskabet valgte München som hovedby, valgte den syriske gren Aachen, nær den hollandske grænse. Her har man opbygget en stor muslimsk befolkningsgruppe, bl.a omfattende den indflydelsesrige syriske Al-Attar familie. Den første fra den familie der flyttede til Aachen var Issam, der måtte flygte fra sit land allerede i midten af 1950erne. Mange andre medlemmer af den syriske gren af broderskabet fulgte efter. I den moskée som Attar lod bygge i Aachen oprettede de hovedkvarter som base for deres operationer. De støttede såvel Hamas som de algierske terrorister, og blev hurtigt kendt af efterretningstjenesterne.
Der var nære forbindelser mellem den egyptiske og syriske gren af broderskabet. Således blev Issam al-Attars søn gift med en datter af Al-Taqwa bankeren Youssef Nada. Der var løbende kontakter mellem de to byers centre og flere af broderskabets medlemmer skiftede plads med jævne mellemrum. F.eks. radaktøren af Islamic Center of Munichs: Al-Islam magasin, Ahmed von Denffer, der pludselig optrådte i Aachen. Det eneste mærkelige forhold er, at den syriske gren af broderskabet aldrig er blevet indmeldt i IGD.
Milli Görüs
Det der tiltrækker de tyske myndigheders største mistanke er Zayats finansielle aktiviteter med det tyrkiske Milli Görüs ( National Vision ). Den organisation har mindst 30.000 medlemmer og måske yderligere 10.000 sympatisører. De kalder sig de tyrkiske emigranters støtteparti i Tyskland, og udtaler sig ofte som deres repræsentant. Deres mål er at bevare den Islamistiske identitet i det europæiske samfund. De taler med to tunger, idet de officielt er villige til at forhandle om nærmere integration af muslimer i det vestlige samfund, samtidig med at Milli Görüs i lukkede kredse udtrykker dyb foragt for de vestlige demokratier og vore kulturelle værdier. Den tyske efterretningstjeneste har talrige gange advaret regeringen mod Milli Görüss aktiviteter, og de beskriver gruppen som en ekstremistisk gruppe, hvis mål klart er at indføre det islamistiske system i Tyskland.
Grunden til, at de tyske myndigheder anser Milli Görüs som ekstrem radikal er bl.a. at dens ubestridte leder gennem mange år er Tyrkiets tidligere premiereminister Nehmettin Erbakan, fra Rafah-partiet, der blev afsat af den tyrkiske Højesteret i januar 1998 for aktiviteter mod landets sikkerhed. Officielt er det nu nevøen Mehmet Sabi Erbakan der er lederen, men det ændrer intet, for Nehmettin Erbakan optræder stadig i en nøglerolle under konferencer i Aachen, hvor han bl.a. erklærede, at efter “murens fald” fik vesten en ny fjende – Islam.
Selvom Milli Görüs stadig officielt siger, at de arbejder for integration, er de helt på linie med IGD og broderskabets ideer – der er også her tale om familiemæssige relationer. Således giftede Zayat sig med Sabiha Erbakan, en søster til Mehmet Sabi Erbakan. Deres mor er også aktiv som leder af en vigtig gruppe af islamistiske kvinder i Tyskland, ligesom Zayats far, Ibrahim el-Zayat er imam i Marburg-moskéen.
IGD og Milli Görüs er begge aktive i deres kamp for politisk indflydelse for at blive de ubestridte ledere af alle muslimer i Tyskland. Fra deres velhavende centre organiserer de talrige konferencer og spreder litteratur til hele området – stadig indenfor tysk lov, så ingen kan stoppe deres aktiviteter.
Det kan virke som et problem, at de tyske myndigheder ser på IGD og Milli Görüs som to adskilte og forskellige grupperinger, og et andet problem er, at mange tyske organisationer løbende inviterer de to muslimske centre til at præsentere deres synspunkter ved konferencer, såvel religiøse , som politiske. Således har generalsekretæren for IGD, Ahmed al-Khalifah repræsenteret Islam overfor en parlamentskommitté, hvor man diskuterede religiøs tolerance. Broderskabet er således på alle måder accepteret og endog respekteret af det officielle Tyskland. Det anser broderskabet for at være en stor succes ! – de er ved at få den nødvendige magt og den indflydelse de ønsker i Europa.
Zentralrat, den muslimske paraply
I 1989 dannedes Det Islamistiske Råd i Tyskland af Abdullah at-Turki, der var den kendte rektor for Bin Saud Universitetet i Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Han kom dermed på niveau med de to andre Islamistiske organisationer, styret af Ibrahim el-Zayat, Hasan Özdögan fra Milli Görüs og Ahmad Khalifa fra Islamic Center of Munich. De tyske myndigheder betegnede det blot som endnu en “sunni organisation “og overså dermed det farlige saudiske familieskab.
Alt gik den rette vej for muslimerne i Tyskland, de havde nu tilpas megen magt og indflydelse og besluttede at skabe en paraplyorganisation Zentralrat der Muslime bestående af 19 organisationer – alle tilhørende det Muslimske Broderskab. Det nye råd fik den tyskuddannede læge Nadeem Elyas som præsident. Den tyske presse koblede ham sammen med Christian Ganczarski, der var Al-Qaeda operatør, midlertidigt fængslet, men anset for at have planlagt attentatet på synagogen i Tunesien. Ganczarski var oprindelig polsk flygtning, konverteret til Islam. Han fortalte myndighederne, at Al-Qaeda havde rekrutteret ham i The Islamic University of Medina, hvor Elyas havde sendt ham på træningsophold – alt betalt med saudiske penge. Han var der ikke alene, men sammen med flere hundrede tyske muslimer, som Elyas også havde rekrutteret og sendt til denne ultra-radikale skole i Saudi Arabia.
The Zentralrat beskriver sig selv som en paraplyorganisation for alle muslimske grupper i Tyskland, og skal således repræsentere ca.3 millioner aktive, tyske muslimer.
De større undergrupper, IGD og Milli Görüs fortsætter med at operere selvstændigt – men alt er planlagt og koordineret af Zentralrat. Mange tyske politikere, der stadig har ringe kendskab til Islam, som det fortolkes af Zentralrat og undergrupperne – er ikke klar over, at broderskabets fortolkning ligge langt fra de traditionelle måde at læse Koranen. De har heller ikke forstået, at deres mål er at indføre generel undervisning i alle tyske skoler af deres fortolkning af Koranen og Islam. Mange almindelige muslimer giver jo stadig udtryk for, at de anser sig for at være tyskere, blot med en anden religiøs skoling – men det er her, at Zentralrat griber ind for at sikre, at der ikke findes divergerende opfattelser af Islam, blandt tyske muslimer – de dominerer scenen! – sammen med IGD og Milli Görüs og finansieret fra Saudi.
Den tyske befolkning er for nylig blev chokeret over at høre, at der i moskéerne forkyndes Jihad, d.v.s hellig krig, mod alle , der ikke underlægger sig Islams love. Journalister fra det tyske TV ARD har med skjulte kameraer optaget lektioner for helt unge muslimer i skoler, hvor Jihad er blevet forklaret for børnene, så de kan forberede sig på deres kommende rolle i samfundet.
Debatten om de rige pengemidler fra Saudi Arabia afvises fra saudisk side, da der ikke er tale om penge fra officielt hold – det er private rigmænds donationer lyder det.
Først Tyskland – så resten af Europa
Med god støtte fra de vestlige demokratiers naive indstilling til den muslimske magtopbygning, har broderskabet formået at opbygge et magtapparat og få væsentlig indflydelse også udenfor Tyskland de seneste år. I Frankrig har den ultra ekstremistiske Union des Organisations Islamique de France blevet en dominerende faktor i the Islamic Council, ligesom den italienske organisation Unione delle Comunita´ed Organizzazioni Islamiche in Italia – regeringens primære samtalepartner i spørgsmål om Islam.
Overalt i Europa er der dannet aktive grupper, der ledes centralt af en organisation, The Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe, hvortil alle lande sender repræsentanter. Det startede i 1996 med repræsentanter fra Sverige, Frankrig og England, men blot tre måneder efter var der 35 delegerede fra 11 lande i Europa til møde i Leicester. Her skabte man Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organizations ( FEMYSO) , nu med hovedkvarter i Brussel. Netværket dækker nu 42 forskellige organisationer fra 26 europæiske lande, sagde FEMYSO stolt i 2003.
De er nu “the defacto voice of muslim youth in Europe”, med nyttige links til Europaparlamentet, UN og The European Youth Forum.
Ibrahim el-Zayat har med held anvendt FEMYSO i sine kontakter til det officielle Europa, indtil han blev tvunget til at trække sig fra posten som præsident. FEMYSO hævder, at deres mål blot er at gøre Europa til et ægte multikulturelt område, men ingen er efterhånden i tvivl om, at der er flere skjulte dagsordner.
At tænke sig, at broderskabets stifter, Hassan al-Banna blot drømte om at sprede den rette islamistiske lære fra Egypten til hele den muslimske verden – han ville aldrig havde drømt om, at det kunne ske også i den Europæiske del af Verden.

FrontPageMagazine.com | August 18, 2006 Islam enjoys a large and influential ally among the non-Muslims: A new generation of “Useful Idiots,” that Lenin identified as those who lived in liberal democracies and furthered the work of communism. This new generation of Useful Idiots also lives in liberal democracies but serves the cause of Islamofascism—another virulent form of totalitarian ideology.
Useful Idiots are naïve, foolish, ignorant of facts, unrealistically idealistic, dreamers, willfully in denial or deceptive. They hail from the ranks of the chronically unhappy, the anarchists, the aspiring revolutionaries, the neurotics who are at war with life, the disaffected alienated from government, corporations, and just about any and all institutions of society. The Useful Idiot can be a billionaire, a movie star, an academe of renown, a politician, or from any other segment of the population.
Arguably, the most dangerous Useful Idiot is the “Politically Correct.” He is the master practitioner of euphemism, hedging, doubletalk, and outright deception.
The Useful Idiot derives satisfaction from being anti-establishment. He finds perverse gratification in aiding the forces that aim to dismantle an existing order, whatever it may be: an order he neither approves of nor he feels he belongs to.
The Useful Idiot is conflicted and dishonest. He fails to look inside himself and discover the causes of his own problems and unhappiness while he readily enlists himself in causes that validate his distorted perception.Understandably, it is easier to blame others and the outside world than to examine oneself with an eye to self-discovery and self-improvement. Furthermore, criticizing and complaining—liberal practices of the Useful Idiot—require little talent and energy. The Useful Idiot is a great armchair philosopher and “Monday Morning Quarterback.”
The Useful Idiot is not the same as a person who honestly has a different point of view. A society without honest and open differences of views is a dead society. Critical, different and fresh ideas are the life blood of a living society—the very anathema of autocracies where the official position is sacrosanct.
Even the “normal” spends a great deal more energy aiming to fix things out there than working to overcome his own flaws and shortcomings, or contribute positively to the larger society. People don’t like to take stock of what they are doing or not doing that is responsible for the conditions they disapprove.
The Useful Idiot, among other things, is a master practitioner of scapegoating. He assigns blame to others while absolving himself of responsibility, has a long handy list of candidates for blaming anything and everything, and by living a distorted life, he contributes to the ills of society.
The Useful Idiot may even engage in willful misinformation and deception when it suits him. Terms such as “Political Islam,” or “Radical Islam,” for instance, are contributions of the Useful Idiot. These terms do not even exist in the native parlance of Islam, simply because they are redundant. Islam, by its very nature and according to its charter—the Quran—is a radical political movement. It is the Useful Idiot who sanitizes Islam and misguides the populace by saying that the “real Islam” constitutes the main body of the religion; and, that this main body is non-political and moderate.
Regrettably, a large segment of the population goes along with these nonsensical euphemisms depicting Islam because it prefers to believe them. It is less threatening to believe that only a hijacked small segment of Islam is radical or politically driven and that the main body of Islam is indeed moderate and non-political.
But Islam is political to the core. In Islam the mosque and state are one and the same—the mosque is the state. This arrangement goes back to the days of Muhammad himself. Islam is also radical to the extreme. Even the “moderate” Islam is radical in its beliefs as well as its deeds. Muslims believe that all non-Muslims, bar none, are hellfire bound and well-deserve being maltreated to the utmost.
No radical barbaric act of depravity is out of bounds for Muslims in dealing with others. They destroy precious statues of Buddha, level sacred monuments of other religions, and bulldoze the cemeteries of non-Muslims—a few examples of their utter extreme contempt toward others.
Muslims are radical even in their intrafaith dealings. Various sects and sub-sects pronounce other sects and sub-sects as heretics worthy of death; women are treated as chattel, deprived of many rights; hands are chopped for stealing even a loaf of bread; sexual violation is punished by stoning, and much much more. These are standard day-to-day ways of the mainstream “moderate” Muslims living under the stone-age laws of Shariah.
The “moderate” Islam has been outright genocidal from inception. Their own historians record that Ali, the first imam of the Shiite and the son-in-law of Muhammad, with the help of another man beheaded 700 Jewish men in the presence of the prophet himself. The prophet of Allah and his disciples took the murdered men’s women and children in slavery. Muslims have been, and continue to be, the most vicious and shameless practitioner of slavery. Slave trade, even today, is a thriving business in Islamic lands where wealthy, perverted sheikhs purchase children of the poor from traffickers for their sadistic gratification.
It is a well-established fact that a Jew’s word is his bond. The exact opposite is the case with Muslims. Muslims are taught deception and lying in the Quran itself—something that Muhammad practiced during his life whenever he found it expedient. Successive Islamic rulers and leaders have done the same. Khomeini, the founder of the 1979 Iranian Revolution, for instance, rallied the people under the banner of democracy. All along his support for democracy was not a commitment of an honest man, but a ruse of a true Muslim. As soon as he gathered the reign of power, Khomeini went after the Useful Idiots of his time with vengeance. These best children of Iran, having been thoroughly deceived and used by the crafty phony populist-religionist, had to flee the country to avoid the fate of tens of thousands who were imprisoned or executed by the double-crossing imam.
Almost three decades after the tragic Islamic Revolution of 1979, the suffocating rule of Islam casts its death-bearing pal over Iranians. A proud people with enviable heritage is being systematically purged of its sense of identity and forced to think and behave like the barbaric and intolerant Muslims. Iranians who had always treated women with equality, for instance, have seen them reduced by the stone-age clergy to sub-human status of Islamic teaching. Any attempt by the women of Iran to counter the misogynist rule of Muhammad’s mullahs is mercilessly suppressed. Women are beaten, imprisoned, raped and killed just as men are slaughtered without due process or mercy.
The lesson is clear. Beware of the Useful Idiots who live in liberal democracies. Knowingly or unknowingly, they serve as the greatest volunteer and effective soldiers of Islam. They pave the way for the advancement of Islam and they will assuredly be among the very first victims of Islam as soon as it assumes power.

“Honor” Murders – Why the Perps Get off Easy

On May 31, 1994, Kifaya Husayn, a 16-year-old Jordanian girl, was lashed to a chair by her 32-year-old brother. He gave her a drink of water and told her to recite an Islamic prayer. Then he slashed her throat. Immediately afterward, he ran out into the street, waving the bloody knife and crying, ‘I have killed my sister to cleanse my honor.’ Kifaya’s crime? She was raped by another brother, a 21-year-old man. Her judge and jury? Her own uncles, who convinced her eldest brother that Kifaya was too much of a disgrace to the family honor to be allowed to live.”[1] The murderer was sentenced to fifteen years, but the sentence was subsequently reduced to seven and a half years, an extremely severe penalty by Jordanian standards.
Today, honor killings are prevalent mostly among Muslim populations.2 This article analyzes the social, legal, and religious circumstances of honor-killings in one Muslim state—Jordan—where, according to official Jordanian reports, honor crimes lead to the death of 20–25 women yearly. (The real number is probably much higher, with murders hidden as suicide or accidents; a 1998 State Department report estimates the annual number at about 100.)3 Jordan is of particular interest because of a campaign launched in the summer of 1999 to abolish the reduced penalties for honor crimes, which encountered fierce opposition by conservative forces in the Jordanian parliament. This debate made explicit arguments which are normally kept quiet and has implications for Muslims everywhere, including in the West. The article also includes examples from Egyptian and Palestinian societies.

An English Muslim, Rachel Babar, has sent us her commentary emphasizing that she finds the term integration not relevant to her position as an English woman.

As-salamu `alaykum, As a Muslim native English person, married to a person whose parents come from two different cultures again (Spain/Pakistan), and with three little girls who look English but whom we are trying to bring up Muslim, this is a subject close to my heart. However, I have a problem with the term integration because it isn’t relevant to me. I don’t see why I have to integrate because I am culturally English even though I am completely Muslim. I have two more friends in this same small town who are in the same position. Right now we switch and mix the foods, clothes, ideas, and attitudes of the different cultures (Muslim/non-Muslim) as long as they are consistent with Islam, and we enjoy the extra dimensions added to our English backgrounds and diet by our contacts with our Pakistani or Arabic friends. But our long-term dream is of the development of a distinctively English Islamic culture, and I enjoy imagining to myself what forms it would take. I am optimistic that in the long term this can happen, but there are still many hurdles to get over although I think they are all solvable by time. Especially if the Muslim community becomes confident that it is here to stay, that it has something that post-Christian Britain needs desperately — a religion that solves the problems yet has the same teachings of the Biblical prophets (peace be upon them and upon all the righteous servants of God). As ties with the old countries weaken as each new generation appears, let’s start exploring ways of intermingling with the English community’s traditional networks outside the Church or pub — like drama or art or music or athletic clubs or Guides or Scouts, etc. for kids. If the activities aren’t suitable for Muslims, let’s tell them why and let’s try to explore ways in which they can be adapted. One family can’t do it alone, but a whole series of families could. Let’s not just barricade the doors and act like we are under siege to the problems in English culture, but open them wide and start suffusing into the English culture in the manner of the first Muslims in Asia, Turkey, Spain or Africa. Think long term and work for the flowering of a rich, authentically Muslim, distinctively English Islam in a few hundred years, and dream of a time when England becomes Muslim bi idhni Allah (with the prmission of Allah). Hvor mange kvalifikationer kræver det at dele aviser ud?
Er der noget job der kræver mindre?
Der er da noget galt, når vi har mange mennesker der er på kontanthjælp, som ikke gider rokke med ørene, når der er job at få.
